Mason Alexander is always growing and innovating. The addition of the Technology division in Mason Alexander came as a result of observation of the pain points in IT recruitment industry at the moment. The desk consists of James Bowles, Brendan Hennessy and Brian Burke. With a combination of 20+ years Tech recruitment experience, the new team have hit the ground running and are already making waves across Dublin and internationally. The team recently sat down with us to give us a run through their backgrounds and experience.
James joins the Mason Alexander Technology team to focus on Business and Technology Transformation.
Recently returning from working in London and Australia, James is tasked with building out a number of specialisms to support both established consulting teams and independent consulting direct with industry. The initial aim is to work with the team’s existing client base to introduce our new capability. From there the ambition is to grow a reputation of being the go to team for Business and Technology Transformation and Change Professional Talent in Ireland.
With a background in technology James understands how organisations procure technology and resources and how major initiatives get sponsorship. Mason Alexander Tech are working with top strategy and consulting partners, as well as the majority of domestic and international FS institutions in Ireland, helping them mobilise new teams and support resourcing for existing programmes.

Brendan joins MA Technology with a strong foot hold in the Dublin and regional IT contracting market. Brendan works with a strong core group of IT contracting professionals, mainly in the software engineering space. Brendan connects these professionals to his vast range of clients, who he has worked with over the past number of years, to help scale up their development teams.
Brendan has unique approach to recruitment. He employs a candidate customer service point of view and a technical screening point of view, which allows him to build up strong relationships. This then turns into a trusted consultative partner relationship, where Brendan ensures to deliver relevant contracts to active contractors. Brendan works with a wide range of clients who take comfort in knowing that his accurate screening and recruitment approach can deliver the right talent to ensure that their hiring needs and targets are met in a time frame that few others can match in the market.
Mason Alexanders software engineering division is on track to be one of the highest growing areas in the next 18 months and with plans to grow the team even further to service the demand of our clients heading into 2019 and beyond.

Brian has recently moved back to Ireland after spending over two and a half years recruiting within the Security & Infrastructure Technology space in Melbourne, Australia. In that time he has developed his knowledge and expertise vastly within the Melbournian market. He has now returned home to set up and grow the Security, Cloud and Infrastructure division of Mason Alexander’s Technology Division.
Across these three sectors of Information Technology, he focuses predominantly on Cyber security with recruiting Cybersecurity Managers, SOC analysts & Pen Testers, along with working with clients on the various types of cloud offerings from Azure, AWS and Hybrid Cloud, which are now dominant across all sectors of industry. His experience across traditional IT Infrastructure is well honed and developed.
Having moved back to Dublin at the end of July, Brian understands the importance of building strong relationships with both client and candidates in order to get a true understanding of their needs. His core belief is that being consultative and building valued relationships with all parties involved are most important. To do this Brian has developed expertise in his specialism, so that the advice and information he provides is the most up to date and relevant for what both clients and candidates need.
With Cybersecurity attacks across the sector increasing daily, the costs to exposed clients is also growing exponentially. This in turn means that having the best possible talent working in your cybersecurity teams and in your company is fast becoming a number one priority for CIO’s and CISO’s. Brian ensures that he makes the hiring process as efficient, cost effective and smooth for all parties involved.
